Uncle Uncanny’s Summer Sessions 2011
Volunteer Information
Volunteers are a key part to the team of Uncle Uncanny’s Summer Sessions and our limited number of volunteer positions fill up fast. Volunteering is a great way to become part of the Uncanny community.
Read carefully through the following details and inquire using the online form below.
We are looking for hard-working, fast thinking volunteers with great personalities for all types of work. Volunteers are required to work 10 hours throughout the weekend (in either 10hr or (2) 5hr shifts, depending on job). In exchange for your hard work, you receive a weekend pass, one/two meals daily (depending on shift length), early festival admittance, a festival t-shirt. and the satisfaction of being part of Uncle Uncanny’s 2011.
Volunteers MUST be available for the entire shift amount. This means arriving on Thursday for the mandatory orientation, checking your schedule and not leaving until your shift or shifts are complete. Volunteers working Wednesday load in shifts will need to arrive Wednesday morning at 10am. Positions and shifts are not guaranteed, but we do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Here is the summary of available positions:
Pre Festival Support: We are looking for “get it done” people to arrive on-site Wednesday or Thursday. These shifts must be arranged specifically and will require you to purchase a ticket; reimbursement will occur once your volunteer commitment has been fulfilled. You will be fed, and considered part of the set-up team for creating the Festival. Your volunteer hours may exceed the 10-hour weekend requirement, but it will be well worth it!
Gate / Box office: With improvements in our ticketing and check in process, we are looking for fast thinking, computer literate, and friendly individuals for the front gate/box office positions.
Green Team: Keeping the grounds clean and sorting all recyclable materials.
Campground Support: We are looking for people to be stewards and personable to over see the campground area. Besides the stage area, this is where a lot of the fun happens. We need some one to attend to helping campers and keeping the area running smooth.
Parking: Signs only do so much, we are counting on you to keep things moving smoothly on Old Highway 40 parking and the campground.
Stage Area: Junior can only do so much. Want to get your hands dirty? Do you like working hard? We need punctual, motivated and strong volunteers to help with stage set up, production and break down.
Office Support: We are looking for a few folks to man the Info Booth and provide support staff to festival operations. If you are interested in this position, please be specific about your abilities and experience when inquiring.
Post Festival Staff: We are looking for motivated and committed volunteers to remain on-site or arrive Monday for clean up. These shifts must be arranged specifically and will require you to purchase a ticket; reimbursement will occur once your volunteer commitment has been fulfilled. You will be fed and otherwise considered a hero for your efforts to restore the site. Your volunteer hours may exceed the 10-hour weekend requirement, but it will be well worth it!
Other: There may be additional volunteer positions available in Security, Hospitality, Beer Garden, and General Staff Support throughout the Festival. Please be specific about your skill-set and why you would be a good choice for one of these jobs.
Please complete and submit the following information form to apply for volunteer positions. All fields are required.
- If you do not have a phone number or physical address, please provide the best way to contact you, besides pigeon.
